Have 6 girls, Barred Rocks, 3 baby Orpingtons arriving soon. Love them lots. I don't know who's more spoiled them or me.

I have one that is very sick and I'm thinking she may be the first one I'll have to put down. I'm really distressing over this. I know it's something I need to know how to do, I owe them a peaceful departure. But what is the best way? I'm so afraid I'll do something wrong.

Ugh.The hardest part.

I'm so sorry to hear you have to deal with the euthanasia issue already. That is a very difficult thing to deal with, I know… There are many different techniques you can use, everyone does it differently, but here is a good discussion on the topic with some suggestions:

Best of luck

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Sorry to hear you have a sick bird :hugs It sure can be a hard thing having to deal with euthanasia. I too have agonised over these things before. Sumi has left you a good link to check out, I hope it helps you.

Good luck :fl

I'm so sorry. Unfortunately that's something anyone with animals faces at one time or another. Sumi has given you a good link, hope it helps.

Hi and welcome to BYC - you have some good advice already so I'll just say a big hello and wish you all the best.
