Where The Wild Things Are
In lowlands of Scotland, the river spirit known as the kelpie appeared in a variety of shapes. The most common was in the form of a horse, and it was in this shape that it was called the kelpie. The kelpie haunted the fords of swollen stream and would lure any unwary traveler to their doom. When a traveler came to the river at night he would see only a horse, and if he were so unlucky as to attempt to mount the creature the creature would kill its rider. Deep pools in the river were believed to be inhabited by the kelpie as a guardian spirit. It is said that a kelpie haunts the Loch Ness in Scotland. The faerie appears in the woods as finely decked horse and would rush its victim to Loch-na-Dorb, Loch Spynie, or Loch Ness, and devour them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Kelpie's wish is one that is dark
Its deepest desire
Is to drown the humans
Big or small
The Kelpie's wish is not what you think
Do not trust the Kelpie horse
if you mount the twisted creature
Your fate will be sealed
The Kelpie watched from under the water as the humans walked on the docks carelessly. "Oh if only i could drown them." He thought as he watched when a young girl, about fifteen, caught his eye. She started talking to one of the men but being underwater the kelpie couldn't hear her words. He watched her as she walked away seeming angered. He shifted into his human form and swam away towards an abandoned shore.
Morna Carroll walked away from the docks in a huff. As always her father had refused to let her go fishing on loch with him. Morna grumbled as she walked soon coming to the bakery where her friend Bridget waited. "What took you so long?" Bridget asked before seeing the look on her friends face. "Oh, you asked again?" Bridget said looking some what amused. "Yes!" Morna answered. "I don't understand why i can't go!" Bridget sighed. "Morna. The loch isn't a place for young ladies." Morna waved her hand dismissively. 'Yeah yeah I don't care! I want to go on the loch!" Bridget changed the subject. "Sheena should be here soon." Morna just nodded. Sheena was a year younger then her and Bridget but they still let her come with them to the bakery every friday. After ordering some biscuits Morna and Bridget went to sit down.
