Yeah! I thought it was awesome that they based the Loftwings off of Shoebills. I've always thought Shoebills were so cool looking (I think their babies are so ugly they're cute, lol). Look at that wingspan, it's huge!!! Sucks about the poaching, that's terrible! 
When I was a kid, I remember reading some children's wildlife magazine (maybe a Ranger Rick or something, I can't recall) and they had a "top 10 ugliest animals"... number one was the Shoebill, and I thought that was ridiculous, Shoebills are cute! I didn't know about their adorably awkward babies at the time, though... heheheh!!
