One week ago I brought home a red star yearling who was just getting thru with molting, I was told. She lays every day. It's obvious she is just getting some new feathers. But, she always looks like she's wet, or greasy. Is this a sign of molting? Or is it something else? She eats and drinks, social, energetic. Thank you for any thoughts.

Newly grown feathers look bright and shiny, but I've never noticed what I would call a greasy look.

I've a BLRW molting right now she just looks dull and dry with bald spots and now she's got new shinny feathers coming in. Could you post a pic maybe? That would help.
