Just really proud of my Da, so I wanted to share the progress he's making on our coops and run.
We bought two premade coops. Bought two because the reviews stated that they wouldn't hold as many chickens as the company advertised. At first, we were just going to join the two runs together. But I am more adventurous in design to leave it at that.
You may be wondering what the big blue structure is. Well, when we first moved out here, we had a big above ground pool in the yard. But nature had other plans and a very...special mole dug through the liner. At least we got rid of the moles for a while because of them flooding out their own burrows. Anyhoodles, bit by bit we started taking apart the wreckage. And that blue thing there, is what's left of one side of the pool deck. This deck has a nice long bit of space under it, so I got the idea that it could be made into a nice upcycled run!
Da's doing the tool related things, making some design choices here and there, including a door for me to crawl under when I need to. We actually have electricity going out there, so it will be very nice during the winter!
As for the coops, we will be weather proofing them and then painting them.
