The NEW(!) 2012 Cochin Breeder Directory (as of Sept. 2012)

I also think it would be beneficial for people interested, to know who raises birds for show and who doesnt? And, I also mentioned before too, that instead of having an entirely different list of people who have frizzles and smooths, have an astric beside the persons name under the variety to indicate they have frizzles? I know this is hard work, but instead of leaving it all to you Gail (who does this and much much more here and other places), maybe we could find someone who has the time to do it and keep this list up to date and accurate? Food for thought.

I've been wanting cochins since I first got interested in chickens. Only thing is, the only breeder in my province only has the partridge variety and they're listed as a poor layer (on this breeder's site). The partridge doesn't really appeal to me and I also want ones that lay well. Are any of you (cochin breeders here) in canada? Or, maybe the northeast coast? Is it even possible to ship eggs or chicks across the border? Thanks.

Im in the mitten of Michigan. I have about 60 bantam cochins of almost every color. Currently they are all in the same pen, however I will be revamping my barn in the spring and also have chicken breeding condos coming in so if someone wants a particular color, I can breed it for them. I do have bothe pet and show quality birds and several diff bloodlines from all over the states. Im also very picky on my feeds and cleaness of my coop and birds. Im not certified with nothing but do breed for the best that I can and buy eggs to hatch to add to my breeding coop from the best. I am not organic and do use some medications when needed. I have very happy healthy birds and take great pride in them.
Colors included in my coop: solids, mottleds, splash, calico, colombian, partridge, and unique mixed colors of all sorts.
Sorry I dont ship. Pick up only.

Both LF and bantam Cochins are wonderful, entertaining, friendly birds that make reasonably good egg layers and even better pets and 4-H projects for children.
Hope to see you soon.
