Hi All!

My name is Jennifer and I live in Southern California. We live on Horse property, but don't have horses. I am new to having my own chickens. My Mom has chickens, (we all live on the same property, but completely separate from each other). I was given 2 baby chick's from a friend of a friend that couldn't have chickens. And so it all began. The chicks are now 5 weeks old and I am getting 3 more tomorrow. I have a small chicken coup that I got online only to discover that it is to small, so we are already planning a "addition". I do have a little experience, but just a little bit. So much to learn, but I am really enjoying it. So besides 2 chickens, we have 2 goats and 2 dogs. When I say we, I mean my husband and I (we do have 1 daughter, but she is grown).

I think thats about it for now.

Look forward to talking with Y'All.

Nice to meet you Jennifer, welcome to Backyard chickens. The Learning Center is a fountain of knowledge - a great first step in any chicken education.

Welcome to BYC, Jennifer. Glad you decided join our flock. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. What kind of chicks do you have?

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I to have had coops from the internet that have turned out to be smaller than specified. I now you use them as grow out coops for chicks and the other as a sick bay coop. It can be quite annoying and I don't buy now untill I have seen. Wishing you the very best of luck with your three new additions tomorrow. Be sure to ask any questions everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow
