Jax, our german shepherd pup is showing mild to no interest in the chickens; unlike his interest in the cats which is non-stop.
A chicken will run by him flapping the wings and squawking and he's just like 'oh look, there goes a chicken'.
My DH insists that he will need to be trained to leave the chickens alone. I think he's doing just fine without training. His breeder has a farm, so maybe chickens are nothing new to him.
Train him or just keep exposing him to them and watch his behavior?
ETA: I won't be leaving him unsurpervised around the chickens anyhow, not now and probably not ever.
