We recently ( yesterday )brought 6 chicks home. They have all acclimated very well except one (the runt). She wasn't as energetic as the others from the beginning but noticed tonight that she is acting very lethargic. She will walk but if nudged or messed with by another chick but other than that she just lays down. Yesterday she seemed to be eating and drinking just fine . The water has electrolytes the brooder is at temp. What do I need to do to help.?? Is she getting picked on? I did notice when I put her beak in the water again . Pretty quickly some of the other chicks came over and kinda muscled her out of the way a bit. Is this the pecking order ?? Is she getting picked on so she isn't getting enough food and water?? Please help.. thanks in advance.

Ok 1. Check the temperature in your brooder. Those chicks are trying their hardest to get away from it which means it's too hot.
2. Some chicks just dont thrive, especially the runts. Check for pasty butt. Make sure shes eating and drinking. That's all you can really do at this point.

Ok. Thank you, the temp says 95 or so but that was not directly below the lamp. So thank you for recognizing that. And no pasty butt. Thanks agin.
