Greetings every one.
My wife and just started our chicken flock today with the addition of 6 birds to our farm. Be ready to be asked lots of questions as we learn as we go. I have already got a bunch of information from this site and look forward to getting more. We're starting slow to make sure we learn enough to handle a bigger flock. Hopefully adding ducks and quail soon. Next spring the fruits and veggie part of the farm will spring up along with the goats.
The plan is to become mostly self-sustaining.

The ladies in the chicken tractor happily digging up the abundance of wild clover. Two are of laying age (6 months)
The other 4 a pre-layers (4-6 months).
PS Big Daddy is actually my wife's father. He's the patriarch of the family and Big Daddy is what out 11 grandchild all call him. Well 10, the youngest isn't old enough to talk just yet.
