I have this pink chick Spiral band, And it is haunted or cursed or something...

I bought it a long time ago to mark some ameraucana chicks. They were really helpful until... My cat killed the chick wereing the pink band, and injured another. I've learned from that leason and kept the doors shut, thinking nothing of that band. I removed it from the dead chick for next year. Well, The next year in Feb. I hatched some cochin chicks! One was Splash! Yay! Well, again I put the pink band on the cute wittle spalsh cochin!! I thought nothing about the band other than it was cute and pretty. That chick died for unknown reasons the next day. I was horrified! My Splash Chick! I started to think something fishy was going on... I proceded not to use that band for two more years. Then, In 2009, I was doing a 4-h project with alot of red stars! I tried not to use the pink thing, but I ran out of bands to use. So I put it on the pullet, carefully observing it every day. After 2 weeks, I thought everything was going fine, so I stopped giving the pullet special attention... She died the same day. At this point I knew it was cursed, and to this day, I have never used it again. I resides in my bedroom in a box, never to be used again...

that's really spooky!

Maybe you should sterilize it. Maybe it has something on it that isn't good for chickens. but would hate to test that theory!! You should probably leave it in the drawer!

I have felt that way about other items. I don't blame you for not wanting to use it again. How about you just toss it? Then at least you won't be tempted to use it again!

Chicken-China-mom, I don't think I'll toss it. I don't want it to land in some other poultry loving persons hands! I'm gonna keep the evil thing safe with me...

Sorry you lost them blackbird...

I wouldn't use that band again.

I used to use my pet names as passwords at work, then realised that the cats would die within a few months. Now I only use passed on cat names.

Imp

BTW- I was asked once, when a coworker wanted to get rid of a neighbor's aggressive dog, if I would use it's name as a password. She was only half joking.
