Well...My mean roo made me so mad today, he spurred me really hard and he's making my girls go bald! Since our run is pretty big, we cut it in half. And I plopped him right in there. Then I put some water and food, then I had to think up a quick shelter! So, I looked around my yard and saw a trash can, which was not in use. It was very clean

So, I put it in there, and he went and sat in it, I was guessing he liked it

If you have the lid, you can secure it and cut a big enough hole in it for him to get in and out. I used on as a dog house for years

If it was me, I'd also place the BBQ and a large Cleaver next to the pen, where he could see it just as he going to sleep.

You are a genius- I have been wondering what I could use as rooster jail! And it's secure from rolling by those big old railroad ties or whatever they are- great idea!!!!!

I'm about ready to do that too. My hens are feather scarce on their backs and one roo is starting to attack my son. He just gives him a nice kick though and he leaves him alone. OR I will just let them run around the back yard with my dog, but I want to wait until I have eggs that I can hatch. My roos seem to leave the big hens alone though.
