The waiting begins

We have gotten quite a few at this point from Metzer directly. We have had pretty good experience with them. They did mess up one order where they got our order mixed up with someone else's. They offered to refund or they would send them next hatch, since we wanted what we ordered we let them just send the correct order which came correct. Would not hesitate to order from them again.

Were they good with letting you know when they shipped?
I was hoping to get that email. LOL

It seemed to me they batch process at end of the shipping day, or I've just always been towards the end of the ones they filled on hatch day. I find USPS lacking with tracking info myself. Had one shipment never left the waiting delivery to USPS and was delivered without a single update. But definitely can't fault Metzer for USPS not doing the tracking updates. I've always gotten the tracking number on the ship day though.

They notify you when they ship them. I have pretty good luck with Metzer too. They now have the facility in Tennessee, so not every thing is coming from California anymore.
Yes, I have actually gotten them next day one time. Last shipment we got was actually through another hatchery, but they sourced them through Metzer and came from CA facility. Idk if it just so happened they just didn't have the Muscovy or gosslings in the TN one or how that ended up. As the I am only a few hours from the TN one, and the CA they got it here in 3 days still. Did loose one Muscovy arrived alive, but was not doing well and it passed around 2 hours after pickup. Rest are 6 weeks old and doing great. From looking around it seems Muscovy just don't do as well shipping as mallard breeds. All our mallard breeds we have gotten have all arrived alive. We have only lost two we have directly gotten from them. Those two was from our previous two orders. They passed just under 3 weeks old. According to the vet we took them to to have them looked over said she didn't think it was anything on our part. Said the ones we brought to be checked that didn't looked good and healthy, no parasites in poo. They are now laying eggs and doing well.
