We have four Anconas that are in their third year of laying. All have been pretty good layers in the past. All chickens have stopped laying (about two months). Their food has not changed, the weather is great and we are getting 12+ hours of sunlight. They free range during the day (none seem to be brooding in the coop). We have had this breed of chickens in the past and never experienced this. Any ideas?

Could a predator be getting the eggs? Also they might be stressed out because they were in a close scrape with some predators. My hens stopped laying for a month after a heck attacked them.

The coop is quite secure, but they did have an unpleasant run in with a stray dog. None were injured, but it scared the chickens (and me) pretty badly. If this is the cause, how long do you think the egg strike might continue?

Well they should probably have layed then. Can you post a pic of your coop and nesting box?

Also since they are three years old they could possibly stop laying. I’ve never heard of a hen stop laying that young but I guess it’s possible
