Their here! Corish Rock

Good luck! Hopefully you find them as pleasant as many BYCers have! I have 25 that are going under the knife tonight if the rain lets up. 8 weeks will go quick!

I cant wait! we bought RIR for meat birds but I told my husband that they are not very meaty and I couldn't bare to butcher them after bonding with them lol so we got these.!

mine are hens as well. Have a Red sex link Roo and he is pretty laid back. I have one girl that is mean but you will have that I think lol.
I've got 15 RIR. Great chickens to have in your flock. Mine are all pullets so I'm not sure how the cox/Roos are

Well, 16 CX are now in the freezer! Turned out to be the perfect night to butcher since the rain brought the temps way down so it was tolerable to be outside. I started at 5:30 with my dad helping and we had 16 done, chilled, then cut up, vacuum sealed and into the freezer by 10pm! a long night, but im glad it is done. The smallest was just a hair under 6 lbs the largest was over the max weight for my scale (7.5lbs). on average i would say 6.5 lbs. They were 9 weeks and 3 days old. I weighed them after they were 'well trimmed' meaning they had the necks and wingtips off and all. Overall im happy with them

Chicks are about a week old they are starting to get their wing feathers and sure are eating and filling out! Only lost one to shipping stress. Have one with a leg issue its seems to be healing ok but not sure he will have full use of it...not sure if I should just cull him or not he is a smaller one such a hard decision to make. Will get pictures soon.
