Today whilst I was doing my daily duck duties, one of my girls made a weird sound.
All my ladies have that normal-midrange almost laughing, rub-a-baloon, quack. But my smallest chocolate runner with the two white patches on her chest(Lilly) made a high pitched yappy-dog styled bark. The sound was in contrast to the others. It was after I gave them peas, so it wasn't related to begging, as they were all off doing there thing. And it wasn't the rapid laughter sound they make when they find something in the straw.
It was so shrill it made me think she was in pain, but she was billing through the straw like all the others, she didn't seem to be walking any different nor was she lethargic. I looked at her undercarriage whist she was moving about and nothing looked strange. She even went into the pond with no problem.
Everything appears normal, except that scary shrill bark. I've had them since they hatched and were delivered in late June of this year and never have I heard this sound before. :(

Possibly just from not drinking water as she is noodling through the bedding. Nothing to worry about.
