Both of my silkie cockrels have issues
The white one has had a back neck for ages which comes and goes I just generally think he’s an unwell bird. When you touch the affected area it feels like crackling sensation. The last day he’s now limping and lost balance and seems to be sitting with both feet forward.
my main silkie cockrels who is usually an absolute picture of health with a giant red walnut comb looks sleepy and tired and his comb has darkened and doesn’t look as bulging. His mobility is fine. He had some wax in his ear that I’ve flicked away and he’s just let me pick him up a couple of times which is weird for him to be honest.
I have noticed mites on the chickens recently (hard to tell at first with silkies) they are tiny white dots like sand crawling around.
I used Johnson’s anti mite spray in the coop yesterday and sprayed some on the grey silkie cockrel. (It says you can)
