There's a moose in our yard

Don't know where she came from or what she was doing, but this young cow swam ashore between our boat and our neighbor's dock:

The deck on our house is to the right. You can see the roof of our chicken coop on the left:

I confess that my first thought was of a winter's supply of delicious, free-range, organic meat and moccasins for the entire family...

Beautifull creatures. Living in Alaska seeing a moose was almost an every day occurance. Never thought I would miss seeing them...but I do!! Thanks for shareing.

What a lucky sighting! It's cold here this morning in NJ and I when I was reading your post I was thinking how chilly the water she was in must be!

Wow! You are lucky. The only time I ever saw a moose was a baby one when I was out on a lake fishing.

I'm absolutely in love with them. I wish I lived in an area where they were native and abundant, but DH refuses to move to Canada at all.

The strangest animal I have seen in our backyard was a 4 ft tall racoon with murder in his eyes.
