I bought my temp. and humidity monitor from amazon.com for $9 free shipping and it works quite well. I'm assuming your using the monitor for incubation, so I just placed my monitor right beside the eggs to get the best results. It is VERY crucial that you have have a monitor for your temp. and humidity. Even if your temperature is off by 3-5 degrees it could end poorly for your hatch. I guess you COULD hatch eggs without it but your results would be uncertain and questionable. Hope this helps!
