I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to your flock.

I was part of the Halloween hatch thread and remember how wonderful it was when your hen hatched her first chicks. I'm so sorry that they're gone now.

I hope you're able to get rid of the predator(s). I bet Misty is lonely now, so sad.

We have lost various chickens in the past at different homes we have lived in when we were in Virginia and Mississippi. Fortunately here in Florida nothing has been able to penetrate the coop and chicken run. It is devastating to find your beloved pets lost like that. In Virginia, dogs got into the cages and killed all of the hens but one that chose to roost in the rafters of the side porch. So please search everywhere for the lost ones. Some are able to hide very well when predators come around. I am so sorry for the loss. Animals depend on us for so much that it is heartbraking when something happens to them. Rest assured that we have all been there at one time and you just need get more critters to care for and love. Thank goodness for memories and pictures.
