They are eating pine shavings???

I finally put mine shavings in the brooder. My ducks will be two weeks old tomorrow. They are eating a little of the pine shavings will that hurt them???

At 2 weeks they should know where their food is and a little pine shavings isn't too bad. We've raised quite a few ducklings now and always use shavings and they are all fine. They do like to nibble at the shavings though. You could alway put something like the rubbermaid shelving liner over the shavings if you are worried. Some mess can drain through the holes to the shavings and the liner is easily hosed off.
