We got our RIRs in the middle of July as pullets and I'm happy to announce the oldest layed her first two eggs on New Years eve, the second one started a few days later. So now we are just waiting for the last one, I figure in about another week.

Anyway we have had about 8 eggs total now from the two and they were not small like everyone kept telling us would come out first, these came out full size.

It's like Christmas everyday going out to see what presents have been left by the Santa chicken.

YAY for you! We've been getting eggs for a few weeks from some of our July chicks, but one of our July EE's laid her first egg today. I feel your excitement. It is like Christmas!

Congratulations!

Yeah! Ours are July babies too and started laying two weeks ago.
We have nearly 2 dozen in the fridge now! I hate to eat them, we are so proud of them.

I want more chickens! lol

Congratulations!!! I have RIR's too. My first to start laying was 17 weeks old. My last to start laying was 27 weeks old. I too feel it's like christmas every day when I go out to collect the egg presents.
