They are now 3 plus weeks and growing!

If your maybe Wellsummers are Wellsummers, you most definitely have a boy. Our gender confused chick had a bigger comb, slower feathering and black breast feathers just like your little guy. My understanding on the Welsummer roos is that they are fabulous roos. Great parents, docile and beautiful. Our girls do have slightly different breast coloring too. Some pics are below. They are farm birds, so I am confident in their breed.

Thanks SeaChick.
I am thinking they are and I have a rooster. I would love to raise some more. I am going to take some more pictures that show them better when they are feathered out more.

I hope you are right... Welsummer roos are just so gorgeous!! I wish I could have one. Look at this guy: (lifted off the net, apologies if this is anyone's bird on this forum!)

Wow he is wonderful. I am will have to be patient to see I guess. It is so hard though. And I now have 5 roos altogether with the one I bought for the EEs. I think I am going to have to get a division in my hen house and pen. LOL I would llike to raise the EEs because I have some that are going to be so pretty. I have one that is going to have a red head. I just love them all. They are mostly buff and redish and a couple of dark ones. I am really happy with them. they aren't the normal dark EEs that I have seen so many of.
