I just recently went to China and you're right...they don't mess around! Very severe punishment for things that other countries slap you on the wrist for. I don't know if there is a DIRECT correlation, but where I was(Fuzhou, a major port city, but not a Beijing or Shanghai) my dad and I would walk at 3-4am(jet lag!) and we felt completely safe, save for the atrocious Chinese driving!!!!

Honestly, I think he got what he deserves.

Think of all the innocent people who are going to suffer because he wanted to line his pockets with some $$$$. Look the other way and you can get rich, we'll just kill/allow to die a whole bunch of people.

It happens here, they just pay out more money to push it further under the rug. Come on, look at that diet drug Phin-Fin. They knew the combination would harm people but they said nothing. Look at silicon breast implant, they did research to say that they would hurt people but the courts over turned all the judgements against the manufacturers. Don't get me started on the cigarette companies.....

Maybe, if they inforced the laws, rules and regs here in the US we wouldn't have the problem with crime that we do.

I didn't realize his actions caused people to die!!! Yeah he should have been excecuted!! I didn't read the whole story, DH just told me the drugs he approved killed some people. There is NO excuse for that type of S@*%!!!!
