In the Brooder
I feel kind of bad here....I had 4 Lohmann Browns since Oct of 2015. I lost two a few weeks ago to some sort of predator. It didn't get in the caged area around the coop, but reached in and pulled one hen to the edge and destroyed it. Actually ate the insides out of the body. It also damaged the leg of another one beyond repair and I was going to "take care" of her, but mother nature did it for me.
Lessons learned here..1.don't wait to put the hardwire cloth on the lower part of the area around the coop and 2. make sure your automatic door does not close too early and shut your girls out of the coop for the night.
Restocking the flock end of June.
