This is Goose & Strawberry today!!!

I have a questions about them, they will not go into there pen at night, I have to chase/catch them to but them in. I hate having to do that to them but I don't want them to be out at night unprotected, they are still afraid of me or anyone for that matter. I have tried many time luring them in with treats & it doesn't work they just stay in the pond. My husband says to just leave them out & hope for the best. Opinion please, chase/catch them so their safe at night or just let them be????

Try feeding them only in their own and that may help. That’s what I have been doing with my boys and they just about put themselves to bed every night!

I think you are right to be worried about them being out all night. I would get behind them somehow and use a big stick or something that might look to them like an extension of your arms and then use your arms and wave them in the direction of their pen. I hope that makes sense. You really need to have them protected at night or things will get very sad!

I had the same problem with my 5 Cayuga ducklings. Once the went outside at 4 weeks I was like a mad, crazy woman trying to chase them in at night. After about a week they got in the routine of being put to bed so now when I go in the duck enclosure at about 6 pm and say "off you go to bed" they simply leave the pond and troop (rather reluctantly) to their house where they know they've got a bowl of goodies waiting for them.
