So I knew going into raising back yard chickens that they would damage my beautiful gardens, but I didn’t care I always wanted chickens. For years I talked about getting chickens when I retired. So in April of 2021 my dream came true. See video below
But what I did not expect was they would enjoy and devour every blade of grass in my yard 🤨 it’s November of our first year with those little darlings and my yard is beyond trashed . It looks like a construction zone.
so now I need to figure out how to manage the greenery in my yard mostly how to save my lawn, if it can be saved!
Any suggestions

I feel your pain. I got my chickens this year, after retiring last year. They’ve been in their chicken yard since mid-September. Whatever grass is foolish enough to brave our late warm spell is rapidly chewed down by the enthusiastic featherheads.

That and the endless supply of poop is what reminded me that they will not get free reign in the house yard, no matter how bad next year’s grasshoppers get!

How many chickens do you have?
The yard doesn't look that large and I know how fast my 24 birds denuded their new 200 sq foot run. Two days. OF course I didn't want grass in there, we just built the run over the lawn. Within a week they had even broken down the sod, prairie virgin sod.

Those little dinosaurs are brutal. They eat faster than it can grow, especially in the dormant seasons.

If it comes back, you may have to consider rotation of your fresh green lawn.
Sorry they ate your world.
