The last couple of times I've taken my 4 week old chicks outside, I've started hearing owls. I haven't heard owls around here since the mid 80's! Yesterday, not only did the owl start hooting about 15 minutes after we went out, but I started hearing a hawk screech! I can only assume that they are hearing my chicks peeping and it's drawing them close. Really makes for some paranoia, I'm telling you.
