they're laying next to the nesting boxes

I got our first egg today! Eek! It's more exciting than I thought! Then I got 2 more.....and all 3 of them have been in the same spot, to the right and below the nesting boxes. I have clean pine shavings and a golf ball in each box. Why do you think they're doing this? The boxes are about 12 inches off the floor...and there are some feathers in there so I think they do go in there. Should I move the boxes to where they're laying? I tried to take a picture but my camera wouldn't work...and that's when I found the 2 others! My 5 yr old daughter squealed like Santa was there

Rather than remove the eggs try leaving them in the nest box. Over night will not hurt them.

So I should take them from where they're laying them and put them where I want them to lay...got it. Thanks!
