No sooner than I moved my HQ egg flock girls into their coop, I got the itch to get show birds again. My son showed poultry when he was in 4-H.

After much anticipation on my part, my gorgeous campines arrived today!

I was a little nervous when I got the soggy, saggy box.

I could hear noises, but wasn't sure if there were enough noises for five birds! Once I carefully lifted the box into the cab of my truck, I peeked inside and five beautiful faces were looking back.

A couple of feathers they gave me to admire in the box.

And even a surprise!

I can't tell you how excited I am.

Gorgeous birds. Are they supposed to have whites ear lobes? Seems like a lot of birds for that one box but they look fantastic, so I guess not.

Yes, they have white lobes. It was a HUGE box, filled the entire back of my king cab, about the same size of a large dog crate (dobie/shepherd/lab size). Their total transit time was less than 24 hours. They missed the truck to bring them up the hill from the sort facilty near the airport, so I made lots of phone calls. They moved them from the warehouse to the pickup window and I made the drive down to get them. Otherwise they wouldn't have arrived until tomorrow morning.

They all came out of the box bright eyed and lively.

Congrats on your new babies!! Glad you commented on the box size, I was wondering how they all fit in there too! I have been watching this breed for awhile now, let us know how you like them. I'm amazed that egg didn't get squished! Quick, put it in the bator!!
