I agree with Gypsy, It could be stress. Take the eggs and hard boil them,crush them up and feed back to them.

I had problems with soft shelled eggs from a few of my hens last year. I switched feeds and everyone is fine now. I think it was the feed in my case as nothing else changed but that.

I was feeding generic layer feed from agway and switched to purina layena crumbles and pellets and within a few months, the shells hardened.
