Think I messed up 😢

So if any haven’t followed along with my other posts One of our hens went broody around the end of July beginning of august. A few days after noticing I had to go out of town for 2 weeks for a family emergency so really didn’t have time to check on her or anything. When I got back she was sitting on 11 eggs. Candled then in the 22nd or 23rd. 4 were completely clear 3 had a clear air sack on one end and the rest were completely dark. So after asking here for a direction on what to do we let her sit. Well today figured it was way past 21 days so me and my daughter grabbed them out. Decided to see what happened and broke 2 open. Both had a chicks in them almost fully developed. One wasn’t moving at all but the second moved it’s head a bit. We put the rest back under the hen. Feeling terrible now. I guess we just wait longer to see what happens next?

Nothing worse than going in on a chick that still had a chance in the egg. Live and learn. We've all been there.

Other hens probably got in her nest and laid eggs later, so they’re behind. Give the remaining ones some more time and make sure no new ones are added.
