How would I go about transitioning my week old chicks from regular starter/grower to a medicated starter/grower?

I have mentioned in other threads that these chicks were a literal surprise gift from a neighbor. And she had bought me a bag of feed also. So I really didn't put much thought into what they were being fed. I am still not 100% sure if I am going to switch to medicated. But if I choose to I would like to know the best way to transition the chicks.

Is it harmful to switch their feed from unmedicated to medicated?

Save the unmedicated to use after the medicated is gone or 60 days whichever comes first.

Is it harmful to switch their feed from unmedicated to medicated? No and certainly not as harmful as a challenge from coccidia.

Thank you for the info! I have decided that I am going to put them on medicated feed. I would rather be safe than sorry. So either today or tomorrow I will go to the feed store and pick up some medicated.
