Thinking about getting some meat birds????

I am thinking about getting a few cornish X this year. I have laying hens, but what all do I need to know about meat birds? I have someone that will process them for me.
How long from purchase to process?
What kind of food?
What else besides rate of growth is different from egg layers?

Haha, your question pretty much summed up the entire "meat birds" section! 8 weeks to processing, broiler feed 20-24% protein... as for general info, just start reading these threads!
