Thinking about hatching Turkey eggs.

I just put in 8 Turkey eggs 6 days ago. This is my 3rd time trying a hatch, first time trying turkey eggs. I have chicken eggs coming to put in with them on Thursday. Hope your hatch goes well.

incubator craped out last night

It went down to 75* got them under a heat lamp untill the replacment incubator gets up to temp. We will see if this is now a big waist of time. Its only day 5

How long were your temps down? I know I would be completely heart broken if that happened to me now with less than 10 days to go. Hopefully you caught it before it was off very long. Remember evan a broody hen gets off the nest once in a while. Either way you might want to start saving eggs again, so you can retry.

One of the turkey eggs hatched last night. It piped, zipped and hatched in 20 min.

and there is another one piped and chirping.

I am incubating my first turkey eggs right now. *Fingers Crossed*

I only had 4 hatch from the 2nd batch, I had a temp drop at the end that I think killed most of them just before hatch day. :-( but now I have a tom sitting on 11 eggs right now due the 1st week in June. So out of 50 eggs and 2 incubators I have 11 total chicks. 1st time for turkey hatching for me too. I learned A LOT

I have turkey eggs and EE mutt eggs in the incubator right now.

9 turkey eggs and 18 EE mutts set to hatch starting on the 27th. The others are set to hatch on June 6 and June 13. Have a couple peafowl eggs in there as well. I've changed out a few eggs since this picture was taken.
