I just got done butchering the last of my X's just a little while ago. Nice birds!!! I'll be getting some more of them.

However next summer I was thinking though about trying some(10-15) dark cornish roo's in the tractor. You know as kind of a "special occasion" thing. I had one my friend raise a while ago and it was superb. Much more full flavored and tasteful than an X. I'd try it this year but we'd be into Nov or so until they'd be ready. Plus I don't even think McMurray has any.

Has anybody ever tried raising them in a tractor? Seems like it would work

I just finished this morning processing 26 red broilers from Privett. raised them in a tractor for 13 weeks. the hens were 3 1/2 to 4 lbs. and the roos were 5-6 lbs.

Ideal has them, plenty of folks use Ideal, and maybe some other hatcheries, too.

Have you checked out JM Hatchery's colored rangers?

I have more chicken in the freezer right now than I think I've ever seen. So I'm thinking I'll wait till next year.

Dawn, I had never seen them...

I checked out the page and they look exactly like what I'm looking for! Thank you!
