My little girlie duck laid one random egg in December. She's acting fine. Eating, snacking, pooping, foraging, drinking, swimming, mating, working on her nest with a ping pong ball in it that she puts back if I move it. She even has developed a little pooch that makes me think she's pregnant. She's not showing any signs of discomfort. Should I just chill? She and her little man are both about 10 months old.

What breed is she, and how long is she inside during the day?

(Thought I recall you saying they are house pets)

They're Australian Spotteds. Since its been crazy southern weather and we've had thunderstorms every day, they get 3 or 4 hours of play time outside every day (foraging, exploring, outside pool) and they get about an hour playing in the inside bathtub every evening. They have sunshine from as soon as the sun comes up until it sets, since their area is in a half- octagon shape with 6 foot windows. When we don't have storms, it's 4 or 5 hours outside, usually with a break in between there somewhere for them to take a power nap and for my dad to do whatever noisy destruction he feels the need to do with his lawnmower/weed eater/mini tractor/chainsaw.

I wish they could have an outdoor enclosure, but there are so many predators here that it wouldn't be safe. I've had them since they were 2 days old, and they actually like their indoor space and the air conditioning. Sometimes they'll lead me to the bath instead of outside for play time!
