This is Daisy, my Barred Rock. Can anyone tell if she's truly a female? Thanks!

A view of the crest would help more. Some breeds have typical feathering for the males and females, i.e. males often feather slower with the secondaries growing out before the primaries and so forth, but it's not a golden rule. At that age crest development is often more reliable a marker.

Hello and welcome. I am pretty new too, but a long time follower. I have been able to find help and support on about every thing, big or small. New to chickens this year and a natural worrier, so this forum is my daily go-to.

She's only about 4 weeks old! I am going to try to get facial close ups right now!! And thank you for the nice compliment on my "baby" whose name is "Daisy"!! I pray it REMAIN as "Daisy" and not be a "David" instead for it would break my heart!!

I hope this picture is better?? I'm hoping this is "Daisy" & NOT "David"... so to speak!! What does everyone think?? There's no comb and no wattle at all visible so far and she's 4 weeks old. Thank you!!
