So right now I have one female laying duck. She’s about 3 years old. Lays an egg everyday - about 3 weeks ago I switched the food from a laying food to an all flock - she hasn’t laid an egg in the last 6 days and she is just full of energy. Running up and down the whole yard instead of floating in the pool and hanging by the coop - is she looking for more nutrients to help her lay an egg or is the new food giving her more energy? She has access to oyster shells - maybe I’m just spending too much time with my ducks at home right now

Something as simple as changing feed can interrupt a laying cycle, but it is more likely that as a 3 year old her egg production is reducing naturally.

Well as long as she is happy so am I , so now I have another freeloader

Weather has been optimal for ducks lately. This morning I got 3 eggs instead of usual 8. spring fever? God bless them, they had a long winter here.

I live in Florida so weve been in the 80’s -90s for about a month now she laid every day all “winter”. Poor girl prob just needs a break

It will most likely only be a 'break' in production. She will very likely resume laying.
