(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We got our first chickens in 2019. First we just went to a chicken farm for purchasing our first chickens. After a while we came up with the idea breeding some eggs ourselves with an incubator.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now we have 19 pretty hens and 2 roosters
(3) What breeds do you have?
Most of our chickens are Cochin (white, blue, golden laced, silver laced, black) but we also got a Brahma rooster, one unknown mixed breed, one Araucaner and two brown egg layers.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love everything about chickens. It kinda feels like an obsession and i wish everything i own would have chickens on it.
They're so friendly, intelligent and love to explore my backyard. I could listen to their chicken-conversations all day long, as same as just sitting in the garden, feeding and petting my sweet girls.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Other than being with my girls i play different kind of videogames, watch series on Netflix, spend time with my bf and i draw sometimes.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My family consists of my two brothers, my parents and me. We also got six cats because we have a lot of space and we also own ducks and a small pond with goldfish.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I actually just found BYC today through my neighbor. She got a few silkies from us and since she's not really good with english she asked me to join this community and find out some more information for her
But other than that I'm also excited to find similar-minded people like me and maybe i can finally talk about chickens because my friends don't share my hobby
