How many weeks old, about six weeks?? I want to say boy but then, the comb is not very red. If it is older than 6 weeks then I think perhaps pullet.

i would say cockeral. (sorry) i had rir's last year and man did they give me trouble! TEN roosters and two hens, and i picked them out myself when they were chicks! anyway, it looks more like my rir roosters did, my pullets didn't get combs that big til they were about sixteen weeks old.

Not cool. The guy we got them from had the most gorgeous, huge, LOUD roo. Dh was impressed. I sort of joked that if it turned out we had a roo, he'd be a housepet and dh didn't disagree. I think he might end being dinner, though (the possible roo, not dh).
