This is why peafowl do not belong in neighbor hoods

Fur baby, that's reassuring. Myboyfriend lives in Hawaii and wants me to go there. I keep looking at cl and on btv threads and rare to see anyone even mention them. Right now he is just in small apartment, would love the weather but sure would miss my yard, garden, and birdies.

We went to Oahu and there were peas. I can't vouch for the other islands but Oahu has them.

Hawaii does have feral peafowl. I am not sure where all the feral peafowl are though. Just today I was looking at a National Geographic article talking about Hawaii natives and their connection to surfing. I have never been to Hawaii but I would love to go someday. From watching House Hunters on the HGTV channel I see that the cost of living is high there since many goods have to be shipped in. I think to save money people in Hawaii plant a garden full of edible things. They said on House Hunters that there are some cooler places to live on the island if you want cooler weather. Like if you live up in the mountainous areas the weather can be cooler.

I am not sure if Hawaii would allow you to bring your birds. I know they already have issues with invasive plants and species, and so you might have to get some of the feral peafowl that are already on the island. You sure will get to have lots of exotic plants if you live there. You could grow some hanging heliconia and the very popular plumeria tree - the flowers are popular to make leis out of. Just avoid falling coconuts if you visit there or move there! More people die from falling coconuts than from shark attacks.

I didn't mean I would bring MY birds, oh my I have this vision of a soft pet carrier with a long peacock train sticking out of it!!!

I just wondered if they were readily available. I would miss my peach and cherry trees but could trade them for pineapple, citrus, etc. yes it's very expensive. . He is saving up to hopefully buy an acreage where we can always least grow a nice garden and hAve chickens and I want peas for the centipedes or millipedes or whatever those nasty bugs are!!!

Who knows if it will happen but it's fun to dream!

Coconuts do not merely fall down. They also travel at 120 mph as projectiles with typhoon (hurricane) force winds...

And they are stored high in trees so they have a good launch pad as the trees are whipping sideways...
