The anticipation is killing me (it's only day 6). I feel like a new mother. Is the baby's room ready (aka brooder)? Do I have enough baby food? How about bedding? Will they all be healthy?

I just hope the labor pain won't be as bad.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, just wait til ya get to day 18

Im on Day 6 too, and didnt think Id live this far, stressing over that stupid thermometer situation. I decided to close my eyes and just leave it alone, and it all settled out, and is now humming along at 99-100 (according to 4 thermometers).

I already check the incubator every chance I get....Im afraid my head will explode before I hit day 21.

I am on day 18 and these last few days take for........ever!!!! It is as bad as labor! A three day labor!!! I have had 3 chick...clildren and I can tell ya

Those thermometers will get you every time. I thought I had it all squared away and then I came home to a high of 102. I hope that doesn't blow it. It is back to 99-100. I'm in there all the time. My family thinks I'm nutso.

All this waiting!

Good Luck every one!!!

I have done both and I think hatching eggs is more painful then giving birth..lol Well, I had an epidural with the last. The reason I say that is becouse depending on where you have your bator you are either running up and down stairs or if it is on the main floor you will have a kink in your neck the size of Texas watching for pips.. Also you will have eye strain for looking to hard to see if any are rocking or have tiny pip cracks. Then there is your hearing, did I hear a peep???? Your SO is ready to put you in the loony bin when he finds you talking to your bator, not just words but peeping to it too. Labor is definately better. Jenn

nope no running up stairs for me or creaks in my neck. I have a staggered hatch going and I complained to my hubbie about the stand I have the incubator on about 3 feet from where I sleep it is a homemade bator one of the bigger styro coolers I was going to have to stand up to watch so he says....."put a window in the side". My sister had given me a few pieces of plexiglass for WHATEVER (she knows I am always coming up with something. and voila I know can wake up and see my babies hatching without moving. It is 1/4 inch plexi and I have enough I may end up making a smaller plexi incubator out of it one of these days.
