Ebba means the strength of an animal.
This little one decided to hatch a day or so early and was malpositioned. After 30+ hours of no progress I slowly helped it hatch. When it came for the chick to detach itself from The shell at the bottom.. that I left and gave it time to do so itself. It finally got it self loose. It was just about done absorbing the yolk and whatever else was left but not quite. So it had this little knob/thick cord on its belly button. Minor bleeding but it stopped within seconds. Seems as though there was a tiny surfaced blood vessel that caused it. It ended up drying up and is just about healed. I finally took it out of the incubator a little over 24 hours. It’s now with it’s sibling and I’m keeping close watch. They have become fond of each-other very quickly. I feel so relieved after what this little one has been through and myself so here’s some good news and here’s to this little life!! Hen or Roo we love you little one lol.
