So I'm wondering if y'all think a 15-20ft by 40ft run would be enough for 18 chickens and 3 ducks?

Yes. The bare minimum is 10 sq feet per chicken. More is always better. So I'm wondering if y'all think a 15-20ft by 40ft run would be enough for 18 chickens and 3 ducks?![]()
Should be great, especially if it's protected from the Michigan winters(the real ones, not like this last one).So I'm wondering if y'all think a 15-20ft by 40ft run would be enough for 18 chickens and 3 ducks?![]()
12 not 2 lol sorry the one didn't get in there, and I didn't notice. Thanks @aartShould be plenty. They say 12 square ft per bird
Weird it wouldn't let you edit.12 not 2 lol sorry the one didn't get in there, and I didn't notice. Thanks @aart
The coop will be 100sqft but the 3 ducks have their own house that will be in the run. I have 8 eggs in the incubator right now so if i somehow get a 100% hatch rate (its my first ever hatch) then ill have 18 chickens. The adult birds i have (4 chickens and 3 ducks) have been completely free ranged their whole lives but my boyfriend wants them fenced so i want to make sure they still have enough space.Should be great, especially if it's protected from the Michigan winters(the real ones, not like this last one).
If not protected from weather, your coop(s) may need to be larger.
