It's been a while since I've had a chance to sit down at the computer. So the chicks are already getting their wing feathers. And they are so active. Every night at around 2:00 a.m. they all wake up and have a feeding frenzy for about 1/2 hour. Too funny, scamper about, jumping on each other, chirping as loud as they can. Then all of them go back into the corner with the heat lamp, lay down and back to sleep. I've gotten to the point that I wake up just before they start and come out of the bedroom to watch them. Funniest thing is that they all ways lay down the same way. I guess the have the "pecking" order all figured out. I took some more pictures:

This little girl loves to sit on Paige's shoulder and "talk" to her.

Here is Paige with two more of our new little friends.

This one has three different names. Paige calls her "Sunshine". But she has also been called "Butterball","Sunny".

Paige gets a kick out of the Reds because they are already getting their wing feathers and don't want to sit still. They are always dashing about and try to fly away if you go to pick them up.

Clay came home from school for the weekend and made a new friend. He is wound up just like the girls over these chickens.
I never thought that raising chickens could be so much fun. I have been around people who raised chickens before when I was a kid, but it was always just chickens. Nothing more. Now I enjoy the fact that our one Araucana gets all excited when I come to check on them. She was hating life when we got her home and I've noticed that she has a problem with her neck. She is always turning to the left and can't stretch her neck out like everybody else. I have been checking on her a lot and MLW says that I am spoiling her. The girls are calling her "Daddy's Girl". I don't know, I guess I just want to make sure she's O.K. Best thing about her is she doesn't put up with any "stuff" from the other chicks. Hope you all enjoy the pictures and hearing about out adventures so far. Chris
P.S.
I guess it's a "flickr" thing with not getting the pictures to show up on the thread.
Thanks, Chris
