i finally have a broody she was only siting on one egg but i gave her four more and she slid them under her with the other one it this true signs of a broody and i may also have another one in the nest beside her

i dont know what kind of hen it is but it looks like a cochin but lays blue or green eggs. so i am guesing it is mixed with something and she is only siting on 5 eggs and the other on 16 but i will take some out tonight if she is still setting cause they are both bantams and i know they cant sit on that many

well she is still on the nest tonight and i hope she stays but all the other chickens have went to roost

i am now up to two broodys possibly three but i dont need anymore right now i am hatching the eggs in the incubator but think it will be cool to have a hen hatch eggs so i will let them sit this time and i have one hen on guinea eggs instead of chicken eggs

ok so i went out to the pen to feed the chickens and i kept hearing a faint peep i checked all nest boxes with the broody hens in them and the last one i checked had one little chicke so i pulled the mama hen off and checked all eggs nothing else yet will check again in the morning

my nest boxes are about 3 foot off the ground should i move her to a seperate pen with a nest box on the groumd or will she teach them how to use the ramp i have built for them????????
