Yep. I'm on day 25 hatch day for my Mallard duck eggs and the eggs have gone silent. For the last 2 days they moved around all over it seemed as the eggs were always cockeyed when I checked on them and even caught a few rocking around. Excitement built as the day got closer and today I wake up...hatch day! I run to the incubator and...nothing!

Waiting is totally for the birds. All the thoughts that have run through my head today. Did they all suddenly die? Am I doing something wrong? It's lock down but maybe I can open the top long enough to candle them and see where they are at. It's maddening! I see nothing. No cracks, no movement. I'm on pins and needles!

I keep saying that if this first time fails I will never do this again. My son doesn't believe me. But the waiting is driving me INSANE!

Anyone else going insane? Let's do it together! :D

"Day 25"? Mallard eggs take 28 days to hatch. Good luck.

Well I can tell I'm new at this. 1-25 is incubating and 26-28 is hatching. I'm actually glad you shared that. I was beginning to drive myself crazy with trips to look into the incubator. Now of course...it will stretch out for a few more days. Hahaa

Most duck breed are 28 days muscovy ducks are 35. The last three days is considered lockdown. Normally for duck eggs you lock down at day 25 (stop turning and raise humidity, do last candling and air cell marking if you do that) and you "expect" hatching by the 28th day.
