Well, it looks like we are starting off June with a BANG this week (beginning today) we are looking at at least 7 100+ Degree days in a row with our nights only getting down into the mid-60s. This weekend will be 108-110 for 3 days. Our 6 week old chicks have only been outside for a few days (and the past 2 summers our 2 year old chicks have been in an air conditioned coop with thier previous owner). I have read and know all the tricks of shade, water, fan, frozen water bottles etc.....but what else do I need to know for my flock to survive their first true heat wave?
