Those terrible Japanese Beetles!

We planted two young fruit tress last weekend, apple and pear. Both have fruit growing.
Went to check their progress after work and ended up removing a small army of Japanese Beetles.
We don't use pesticides on our homestead so I was hoping someone can give me a safe alternative to chemicals.

The trees are small enough that you could cover all of the top growth. Just be sure you check it often if you secure it around the trunk. The trunk will grow fast enough that you risk girdling it if you don't check it every week or two.
